2)There are numerous documented cases of humans ingesting Clenbuterol accidentally by eating meat from animals that have been fed the substance to stimulate growth.
that sums it up

Anyways, I would think that if the Clen was detected via a bad cow then it should show up in a few of his team mates or riders that stayed at the same hotel - unless Contador just happened to get the last steak from the bad cow?
My understanding of Clen is that when you are on the "cycle" it should not be used at high intensity but only at between 60% to 80% of your heart rate. It does not make sense that someone would use this stuff during a race.
Then again I am not a doctor so perhaps he was stacking it with something else that there is no test for at the moment.

Good PR, and I think it will go a long way in keeping his image.
Either way (sanctioned or not) the stigma will still linger for a long time, right now he needs to be proactive and keep folk in the loop (which I am pleased to see he is doing) if he dos that, keeps it honest and real, I think he could still walk away with minimal damage. Fans are very forgiving if they feel comfortable with the explanation and the PR, going to ground and waving the pointed finger will bury him.

For me the stigma will last for eternity.
Now all the Contador fans will have positive excuses.
Food poisoning, supplement contamination, these are all technicalities, perhaps to preserve the image of the tour.
Dopers Suck.

This is how the AP describes it:
Clenbuterol is not a steroid but does have anabolic properties that build muscle while burning fat. It is commonly given to horses to treat breathing problems. In medicine, it is used to treat asthma. In similar ways to stimulant drugs such as amphetamine or ephedrine, it can increase the heart rate and body temperature. Athletes and body builders are thought to use it in combination with other performance-enhancers such as growth hormone and steroids to build and define muscles. It is listed by WADA as an anabolic agent that is prohibited for use by athletes at all times, both in and out of competition.

Chinese rider Fuyu Li, who races with Lance Armstrong's RadioShack team, was also provisionally suspended after testing positive for clenbuterol in April.
He was later given support by a Dutch anti-doping expert, Douwe de Boer, who said the amount found in his body points "clearly in the direction of a contamination" and that such a low dose would not help his performance.
The levels found in both riders' samples are similar.
Similiar example, similiar excuse, except in Fuyi Li's case his excuse was riddicled due to his association with LA.
Contador dope !!! NEVER.
