So my Powertap is broken again. This time its out of warranty by a few months. The chaps at Bicyclepower reckon it will cost me R4900 to fix. They tell me the torque tube is busted. They dont carry "wired" spares anymore so I have to upgrade it to wireless at my cost.

What rubbish is that?

So when your car is out of warranty you dont want to pay for repairs either.

So a Powertap only lasts a year? Coz this is the new replacement they gave me when my other Tap failed under warranty.
And why should I pay extra for parts they dont stock anymore?

Big-J, if your car breaks and you take to the agents to have it repaired, are you gonna be happy when they tell you they dont carry spares for your car and you have to buy a newer model??

I dont dont mind paying for repairs but now I have to upgrade it coz they dont have spares for it.

Its like anything these days they are always upgrading stuff so if you have old stock what must the agents do.

If your frame cracks and they send you a replacement and the seatpost and fork is a different diameter because its a new model the agents are not going to give you a seatpost and fork for the frame you have to buy a new one.

I know it sucks and I would also be pissed but maybe its time for a upgrade
