Hi

A 2011 X2 will trade for +- 21500.

I can get a 2010 model for +- 19200.

1. Would the difference in price make you go for the 2010 or am I loosing out on future trade in value?

2. I was never sure about that light blue, but equally unsure about the 2011 black. Your thoughts please?

Well looking at them again, the black looks kind a cool............

It's a Giant what about the Merida?
It is going to be OK in the end. If it is not OK, it is not the end yet!!

Go 2011, I was just looking at them half an hr ago - What about the Trance?
It does not matter if the cat is black or white. If it catches mice, it is a good cat."

Look at the Merida 96 3000D. Ordered a 2011 model from Cyclelab for R21500 + great specs.

Probably for around R20K you can get a Silverback Mercury 1. XT groupset and wheels weighing in at 12.35kg including pedals (pedals weigh 370g. Same spec as the Anthem X1 which sells for R26000.00

@ Crackerjack - there are similar bikes selling for R12000 - R13000.

@ Tubeless - the Anthem is a great ride, been riding the Anthem range for the past 4 years. I think you need to neg with your dealer on the 2010 bike, they should be able to give you a good deal as they want to clear there floors for the new 2011 bikes.

The black one looks sweet!

Bottom line, when buying a new bike you gotta go for the one that speaks to you. The one that makes you wanna ride it. We can all sit and talk about the best value bike out there, but if it does'nt make you wanna ride dont buy it.

Even if it costs you a few extra bucks, it'll be worth it.

+1 on Anthem. One of the best performing suspension designs out there. It can be set up to feel plush like a long travel trail bike, or can be set up to be a very fast race bike. Plus, if you get a small or XS frame, there no rear shock in the way when taking your water bottle out.

Doesn't the 2011 have a tapered steerer tube, QR15 fork and pressfit bearings?
I'd say that those are upgrades over the 2010 model.

Black is faster than blue anyway...
