Hi Hubbers,

We've just updated the site to a newer software version and with the update also introduced a few small changes which I hope you'll like

Before I go over the changes, you be be experiencing some 'oddities' in the layout of the site. If you are, press Ctrl + F5 to force you're web browser to reload any cached content. If that doesn't work try clearing the cache altogether: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache

Top User Bar
The first thing you might notice is that the user controls have been moved to a bar at the top of the screen to reduce clutter on the screen and make it easier to differentiate between new PMs, notifications and access your profile, notification settings, etc.

This replaces the old user controls which used to appear in the left hand column:

Topic Preview on Hover
This was one thing many Hubbers missed from the old site so I'm pleased to say that we've got similar functionality back on the new version! The topic preview popup now appears when you hover over the topic title:

Coming soon...

- Events: As mentioned last week we've been working a proper Event listing / Calendar system. It's just undergoing some final final testing in live environment before we release to users which should be in the next day or two.
- Classifieds: We've also been quietly working on the much awaited Classifieds updates which you can expect to see around the end of November.

We're really excited about the up coming improvements as we feel they'll hugely improve Hubbers' experience on the site.

Please let me know if you find any issues after this update or if you have any other feedback.

Regards,
Matt - Admin

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback thus far :)

Just to let you know Email notifications weren't coming through after the upgrade. We've just resolved this so you may receive a flood of notifications from any topic updates in the last 6 hours.

Let me know if your still not receiving notifications.

Over the last week browsing on my cell has been giving errors in loading
especially when using the back or reload buttons.
Anything to do with the update ?

Nothing to do with the update. We hadn't made any changes before 00h15 this morning.

It's most likely just connectivity issues (either on our end at the datacenter or via your service provider). If you continue to experience problems please let me know and we'll investigate further.

Very nice guys! Well done.

Just a suggestion - would you consider locking the top user bar to the top of the page so that it remains visible when you scroll down? Would make the visiblity of notifications and messages that much more obvious.

I still cant see the "topic preview on Hover" function (use to love that function)
There is still the "view topic" icon that I need to click to preview the topic.

Cleared the cache, logged out and logged in, tried Firefox and Chrome - doesnt work?

Found the issue - this popup does not work in active topics - you have to go into the specific forum!

Please add it to Active topics as well Admin - pretty please!

Good stuff guys.

Maybe I'm the only one, but maybe it would be a good idea to link the "latest forum posts" to the last page of the thread? those of use with slower connections would be happy :)

thanks!
