Survived - just!

A few observations and some questions about the race:

1. Who the hell (pun intended) named Occultsdale! I'm assuming that it is the same guy who named Contermanskloof and Kom se Pad.

2. Is there a steeper hill than Vissershoek, in the Western Cape?

3. Never buy a house under power lines - did you hear those things! Glad i was wearing a helmet - am contemplating a precautionary MRI, just in case.

4. Remember to wear a pair of underpants/tight tights when attempting the gravel section.

5. We love it when a race is meant to be 96km and ends up being 91km Clap

survived. was a tough ride thanks to the rolling hills and wind. Managed to do a 3.04 from the M group. The gravel was fine, but there were ony 3 of us together so could pick our lines and avoid the rubbish. glad its over

That piece of gravel was the sh*ttest thing they cvould ever put in any race. i sincerely hope no more league races have that rubbish in t.

Hey colonel... yes - elites is HARD!!! DeadDead Was sitting @ the back of the bunch cruising along nicely when suddenly i was guttered. Spent 35mins @ 97% heartrate and caught 4 guys in front of me. We made nice progress until the lead SV guys caught us. Then we flew. They pulled us back to the back bunch of the elites about 30km from then.

I had two flat tyres and was involved in a crash.

Had a great ride
Jens Voight doesn't have a shadow because he dropped it repeatedly until it retired, climbing into the CSC team car, claiming a stomach ailment.

JP and Shaun got the top 10 results. I was so pissed with my kak wheels, Ive done nothinglately but break spokes and replace rims and now Ive had enough. Im off tomorrow to go and buy myself a set of new wheels and be done with all the kak and I should of done it in the 1st place when all the sh*t started and now Ive wasted money trying to fix them.

FAN: Yip told you bud, I saw you come past when I was standing on the side of the road where you turn left to start coming home again. Got some bad news for you thou, the next event also ahs gravel in it about 1,2km worth.

Colonel: dont get me wrong - i loved every second of it. Its so awesome to be puking blood for a reason now. When racing in e/f/g/h/whatever your bleeding from the ears doesnt really mean anything. But here its frikking awesome to actually be working towards something!

next time tho - i'm not sitting on the back of the bunch.. i'll hang around near the middle or so - wont get guttered so easily then
