Hey word, what kit were you wearing? I was in B bunch, fell off the back of front group at 51km as there was no road left and wind was howling. With the help of two others we managed to drag back most of the breakaway back. Finished on 2h50. Was on black bianchi with DCB kit on. fees2007-08-27 05:33:09

Fees, I was in Cyclelab kit on a black Specialized. I was working with another Cyclelab rider who was licenced but chose to ride in the B group (he had a number 97 on his bike). This guy was a true gentleman. Going past the quarry, I was continually being pushed into the gutter as the echelon stayed in the yellow lines. At one point, a gap opened and I floored it to second wheel behind this guy. He just continued to grind away. I asked if he wanted to rotate and he casually said if I wanted to, he was fine. So we rotated the work. Then when a small climb started, he dropped me. As soon as he realised that I had been dropped, he sat up and waited for me to rejoin with a casual comment that I should have shouted for him to wait up. From there on, I helped where I could and got dropped by this guy with only 5 kms to go.

The race was Hard pretty much flat and fast. A whole bunch of us got dropped also when you turned right, into the Gutter. Had to work like mad to get back to the front. Which we finally did.

Just finished in the bunch at the end. Was a nice race, and fast.....

Guy that got hit in the C bunch shattered his thumb.  Will need to see a orthopedic surgeon today.  Lady broke her collar bone.  He said he doesn't know how she hit him, but the sister told me he sat in the car at Buffelspoort for some time.  Told me he was very sore and very PISSED off.

Ouch!!!!!! It did look very painful when she went down... I just remember seeing wobble around and trying to get a hold of someone next to hear and then seeing the guy in front of her being flipped over his bike.

Looking at his bike and fancy carbon dish race wheels, I am sure he must be
pissed off.

Ah, now I know what a lot of the guys look like! Also raced in the B bunch, had Dimension Data kit on - would have been a lot faster if more people were prepared to help at the front. But wheelsucking seems to be the norm ;)

Had a nice race, until my chain broke - had to wait 1,5 hours to get a lift back to the finish. Will try again on Sunday.

You've not been following the "Worst Shirt" threads I take it.

Just a folow up to earlier posts about an unpredicatable junior rider in the B bunch causing concern.

I put an e-mail through to Harmony asking very nicely that someone have a word with him and they tell me they're following up.

It shouldn't take much to get through to someone at that age.

....what am I saying - I've got teenage kids and do they listen!!!!??????!!!
