Cry the wind..... took strain but overall it was a good race. Not many helpers in the packs to pull up front, after we got dropped by the quarrie. But a 2.52 will do for me. Thyolo thanks for the help bud, good to meet u and will do some more races in future with u.

Hi WB - great riding with you, you looked strong all the way.

I got a puncture on 90kms - 3 of us were about 30secs behind you when it happened - 2.52 man, I would have loved that time.  In the end I didn't go over the mats & I havent checked what they got to see what might have been.

Thanks to Willem who was pedalling up the other way and helped with a bomb.

Will also look up Harmony rider B1522 for causing too much excitement at the front of the B bunch.

See you next time, t'was a pleasure - nearly.

After the Nola race I thought the wind today wasn't too bad. In fact the wind was the least of my worries as some riders in the bunches exhibited some crazy kamikaze moves, which helped me make up my mind to leave them at the first opportunity. One bunch I was in started moving along like a caterpillar !! I even saw some guys in the middle of the bunch climbing out of their saddles on the drags, shoving the bike backwards in the process and scaring the s#*t out of the riders behind them. Angry
I was in the Standard Bank bunch with fellow club members and others when another club's rider did something crazy to cause about 5 riders to fall [still don't quite know what happened here, but I heard some sailor talk at the moment of impact]. The bunch split and I lost the lead riders. Otherwise a nice ride and I crossed the finish at 03:03.

I hada orait race. was in the b bunch and the bunch split on the rustenburg road back. We were guttered and gutted. We were 2 and then 3 with another two guys upfront. We tried to catch them but they were too strong. I ended up 3rd of the b bunch with a time o 2:46. Not too bad hey. Was a pretty nice race compared to others I had.

Well done on the 3rd place WFlyer!!

The wind was nothing comparing to the Nola race, after doing the Nola I did not even feel the wind at the Lost City Tongue

After crashing out at Carousel, I decided to drop down to the C bunch as I was still hurting a little but was happy to finish in 3h06. Was aiming for 2h50 before the crash and 3h30 after the crash.

There was an accident in the C group about 10km out - Saw a lady take out a dude in front her - ouch looked painful.

I think the bunches where to big too, Our bunch almost had an accident every time they hit a small climb cause of the guys in front slowing down.

WFlyer, I think you might won the B group... If I look at the other two guys results, the one has no previous races and the other only doing the shorted distances at other races. Hold thumbs for the results to be updated :)

Harmony rider is Dwayne Erasmus... doubt that he's a hubber?? They just don't behave like that.

So, WFlyer, you must have been one of the two that broke away on the uphill??  I tried to bridge the gap, but between riding up front in the wind, and on the uphill, my legs just didn't have anymore in them to close the gap. Had to be content with finishing 5th in the B bunch (2:47)

Seanmort - where did you Std Bank guys come from? We started in C and you caught up on us from behind, and as I recall your numbers were A's and B's? Anyway, some friendly guys in that group, a few guys actualy encouraging slower riders Clap. We were right up there when the fall happened (see Gman1834's post in another forum) I ended up MTB'ing in the gravel, luckily escaped a fall and a puncture... Nice race overall!!

I want to ride my bicycle.

What happened with the Harmony guy ? What did he do ?

Raced like a dumb ass again and was all out of legs just before we did the last left turn to go back to SunCity. Finished 13 in the B bunch with 2h48. Nice race Big%20smile

Met a TCS lady that is not yet on the hub.

Guy that got hit in the C bunch shattered his thumb.  Will need to see a orthopedic surgeon today.  Lady broke her collar bone.  He said he doesn't know how she hit him, but the sister told me he sat in the car at Buffelspoort for some time.  Told me he was very sore and very PISSED off.

Another thing, I think they have to run this race on a Sunday. It is getting to big and the traffic was very hectic.
