I don't think anyone really knows. The info on the website is also limited...

Typical to the rest of the Nissan Series.

The 40km route will be much easier than the Nissan Diamond Rush route, but will still contain some good singletrack and a few rocky sections. It will be similar to the Nissan Fast and Furious event, but with better weather. The 70km route will also be fairly fast and everything is ridable, so no need to fear.

All the routes will be very different than last year and will go further East, so few of you would have ridden it before. We made these changes, because we believe it will be safer to avoid the regular riding (hijack) areas and we will have fewer road crossings. The routes will be well marked and marshaled (like all of them thus far).

We are busy cutting some sections and building bridges and haven't done the complete route in one go, but will upload profiles unto the site soon. I apologise for the delays with good info unto the websites, but we decided to make changes to all the routes to make them more interesting and safer and could not use last year's profiles and info etc.

Okay in that case, it sounds a bit more promising. Thanks.

Hopefully this race we will go straight to the finish line once we see it.

I get really annoyed when I get to within a few metres of the finish line and then the route planners detour me off for another km or so. I don't care if they line the extra distance with naked women holding beers and boerewors rolls.

My last two races, Voortrekker Monument and MTN Cullinan, pulled this trick and it makes me grumpy for the rest of the weekend.

Well, if it was lined with naked women and beer, I'd be less grumpy! My time would also be much worse... :D
O yeah, I start in bunch X on Saturday...

Got my goodie bag. Pretty cool water bottle...

I also see that the batch allocations have changed, it's not exactly the same as MtbBarbie's post above.

So nice when someone takes such a keen interest in your safety. You should buy her flowers!

I saw a Tweet from the MTB Series saying that the Elevation Climb for the 3 distances is 250 m, 550 m and 1,000 m.

Also saw a Tweet saying that 1000 riders pre-registered, gonna be busy !

Also saw this news release :
http://www.facebook....146699762031360

And a Tweet that shows where MTBBarbie may have found the link for the Batch Allocations !
To Brew or to Mountain Bike, that is my problem ...

so here we go. The wife and I have collected our numbers and will give our first MTB marathon a go tomorrow with much trepidation, have we done enough training? Will we handle the technical stuff? Will the climbing be too much for us?

But we are mentally prepared we have compensated the training with 32GI, we have our safe words for the technicals (so when you hear futon or banzai its us) and we can walk any climb Fritz throws at us.

See you there! :)
