Hey guys
I went there yesterday for the first time. Verryyy nice climbs, single track and Jeep track. Very rocky sections, but not too many. Only one question. I found the start of the Jeep track (track) but does the single track route start at the same point?
Will definitely go back and spend more time there.

The route is a little difficult to find and the best section of single track is easy to miss. The single track section starts right behind the "Voortrekker Monument" sign facing Eeufees road - it turn off to the right. The second single track starts as you drive in the main gate tar road - you will get a 4 way stop, look for the trail on your left - there is a trail marker board.
Well worth trying out! It`s very new and still needs to be ridden ib a bit

Now that they have increased the entry fee at Groenkloof to R25 without any prior notice. I'll go and give Voortrekker Monument a try.
How many km of trails are there? and How do they compare to groenkloof ?

Voortrekker is a lot smaller than Groenkloof/fountains and thus has a lot less riding on offer. Voortrekker is also very new - only opened the new section 2 weeks ago so it`s still very rough in places. That said - anyone that takes the time to make trails for MTB`ers to come and ride in a safe enviromnt, deserves to be supported.
It is a nice alternative to the other 2

Dear Jozanne
My apologies on behalf of the staff at the gate, they had no reason to be rude. David, could you please follow up on this?
The tariffs are changed annually at the beginning of July (beginning of the financial year), there is a notice to that effect on the website.
I am still working on getting all the documents updated – we unfortunately do not have a team working on the website but only one person, which makes it a bit difficult at times to get everything done in time. My apologies for this but it is beyond my control.
The tariffs should be updated by the end of business today.

What sort of total distance are we looking at if you ride everything at the monument?

If I recall correctly the jeep track measures about 8km. They say in the adverts that there is more than 25km's in trails at the Monument. So you may be able to do about that or go for another lap if you want to.
Thanks Vinny, I went on that one too...sort of missioned around being my first time there, but will definitely go back and try to nail it then. Still good exercise in a safe environment, what more can you ask for?

Road on Sunday morning for the first time. But not good to do when one's been sick - lekker uphills and technical OK, but i had to stop and sit and recover a bit before finishing off...
The route is very new, so we need all to go give a try and get it smoothed and settled. Really like the option to do something different than Groenkloof. I rode by myself, but it's lekker to be in a safe environment.
I did about 9km on jeep and single track but see on the Google map there are many others routes if one get away from teh fence route. Apparantly the climb up to the radio tower is not for sissies.
There is a race there in August, but i dont know how they will do the 50km distance - they will probably link up to other areas nearby, maybe into fountains (you can go with the road underneath the Ben Schoeman highway. dont know about that.
But I'll go back for sure

I recieved a pamphlet at Groenkloof the weekend about the Voortrekker MTB track. Anyone been there recently? Is it worth a try? Are the trails marked or difficult to find?
Thanks!
Thanks!
