The wife is ok - bruised ego more than anything else (thankfully). Lots of big blue oozy roasties... And she was having fun until she crashed...

Marius, you only really know when your drivetrain is too warn when you ride in mud. It brings out all the neglect you have been putting the system through.

Everything works well when it is clean and even if it is warn.

What you had sounds just like typical chain suck, it also only happens when you start to apply power; i.e. going up a hill.

Lube usually helps. depending on how much ware the system has on it.

Nobody is a real loser; until they start blaming someone else.

To all the people who did not get chainsuck on the long route:

What lube did you use ?

i used Squirt and I had to stop and lube the chain twice during the rode because of all the chainsuck i had.

Squirt is good but is seems on the really muddy and watery trails you do need something more. maybe real oil will do the trick?

I drink..cause Beer is addicted to me...(TNT1)

I only chainsucked where we had to walk down onto Helshoogte pass. I just had an annoying sound to deal with... but I was not the only one making a noise...

Finishline wet lube is the bomb!!! Clap
I crashed and bent my rear derailer, went thru the river crossing...and floated through some mofo mud puddles and I had no problems at all!

Not a big squirt fan though...Ermm
