2010 TheHubSA Tour de France Competition
originally A Nochain No Name Production, brought to you in 2010 by Frosty & co

Here's the competition and how it works.
Hubbers will compete in three weighted categories to determine the 2010 TheHubSA TdF champ

1. General classification

35 points up for grabs
- 20 points for 1st,
- 15 points for 2nd
- 10 points for 3rd
- 5 points for 4th, and
- 3 points for 5th place.

2. Daily Stage Winner

126 points here potentially - 21 individial stages, so we do a 3-2-1 points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place - but what are the chances of you picking a team that has positions 1-2-3 on each and every day?

3. Daily Jersey Leader

82 points here, 1 point if your rider is wearing one of the jerseys at the end of each individual stage. This is relatively easy and does have an overlap with the GC competition on the final day.
There is no KOM (Polka Dot) jersey for the Prologue and Stage 1, so no points for those two stages.
A rider can only wear one jersey at a time, so in the event of a rider having two jerseys (see attached pic), then the next best placed rider wears the jersey, but does not score points. Only the person who is classified on the official TdF website (http://www.letour.fr...ment/index.html) will score the points for the jersey.

1 point per day for YELLOW, GREEN, POLKA DOT and WHITE

How will we compete?
By choosing a fantasy-format team of 9 riders.
Any 9 riders from the official team list.

Provisional starters can be found below (scroll down)

You may decide to go heavy on the GC side and pick 9 potential GC riders, who cares about daily stage winners? Or, conversely, you may decide to go flat box for the daily prize, which is more heavily weighted and pick a combination the Yellow~, Polka Dot~ and Green jersey contenders, etc.
Its up to you, that's why its called Fantasy Cycling.

All PM's received (with your 9 riders) by Saturday afternoon (03 July) @ 15:00 will qualify to start this years competition.

Any team submitted after 15:00 (RSA time) will not be considered, as well as incorrect rider information being submitted.!!

No, that's what makes it more interesting.

or will you carry on at a disadvantage?
Just like the teams riding the Tour will be disadvantage, so to will you.

Having issus with my 3G modem and Windows 7 - can't access the net.
Can only add posts on my blackberry, so some of the info above cannot be updated.

You have until 15:00 on Saturday to send your team of nine riders through to join the 5 Hubbers who have already done so.
