It is the age old problem of people not giving a rats. Its my space and I'm occupying it coz i was here first.

If you cant ride the track / roots / rocks / hill / mud it is not a problem but get off the track that others can at least try. There is going to be a fight over this soon.

At the 94.7 there was ques of walkers and people riding past getting chirped to que. FFS if they still pedaling why act like they are in PnP to buy ice cream?Mutt2010-02-06 13:16:36

to chage the topic it seems that SS Timig confused most women for men, according to them only like 11 women did the 40km but if you look there are plenty women.  Hope they fix it

I think the 20km riders were slower than usual because the track was messed up by the time they got there. So don't blame them for going slow. Most of them walked off the track in the grass anyway, where 2nd lap riders looked for a clear line. We surely can't ask them to stay off the grass as well!

Organisers should advertise the correct route distance (30km instead of 40Angry) or reconsider the entry fee.

It was a frustrating slow first section single track. And if the organiser can now remove the bunting tape everywhere on route and not leave it like they did last year, it'll be great.

I think, therefore I go fast

I was in the 20km group. This was my first race.

Must say, was very disappointed. It was good fun after the 2nd queing situation (which was very bad since we started almost at the back of the group...)

Anyone manage to actually ride all of it?

I rode all of it... was actually better on the second lap as no-one wanted to ride in the mud.

I got the 2-lapper as 28.5Km @ R130 = ... won't be doing it again. Will stick to me coffee shop ride, where I can get 70Km there and back, a few drinks and a quality pancake (for less than R50).
