Well I did the Emporers mud 'hike'

First ride 'race' since my broken hand and op

Was very wet and too many people stopping on the

Route .. So it became a wet muddy hike behind

Many slowwer cyclists..

Wish these type of events split the riders and start

Us in groups with time gaps to prevent the bottlenecks

All in all a fun messy muddy ride..

Took longer to clean my bike than to do the ride..

I did it last year. Not much queueing but lots of mud!! But put so many cyclists on a small route and that is what you get. Glad I gave it a skip this year. How did you do in the hike?
"Haltet die Klappe, Beine! Und macht wass ich euch sage."

Jens Voigt once challenged Lance Armstrong to a "who has more testicles" contest. Jens won... by five.

muddy indeed!
how's that section where the route no longer attracted any attention, and each one made their own path through the wetland?

they should dq those who took shortcut me thinks WinkWinkWinkWinkWink

Would need to DQ 80% of the riders

Was a fun ride.. Everyone had to make

A route through the wetlands which did not

Suck you in...

Good leg work out tho MTB00072010-02-06 07:29:08

I think the mud made it quite interesting & fun.Don't think it would be such a stimulating ride if it was dry.Maybe next year there should be a bigger starting gap between the 20 & 40 starts.

It was a mud bath but good fun, I enjoyed the second round more, less people.  I dont think it was a full 40km though (my speedo did not wwork)

My cateye read 30km at the finish so definitely not 40km.

Did not enjoy the mud and slow cyclist. Walking up the muddy inclines because there is nowhere to ride past everybody else. It was frustrating!!!Thumbs%20Down

Yep...

Some tjops did not let faster people

Get past.....

Should stagger starts and in groups to try stop

The slower riders getting in the way in a loop

Or lap type race
