Chips will be available at race registration.
A R50 fully refundable chip deposit must be paid when collecting the chip.
After the race you can return the chip to the event organiszers to get back you R50 deposit.
KORMORANT CYCLING RACE
1) The Kormorant cycling race is an ideal opportunity for cyclist to train for the Cape Argus. Originally the route was established by Hartbeespoort cycling club in 1999 and since then all riders have started realizing the benefits of this route. The route includes Hekpoort hill and Poeierkop hill which will prepare the riders for Chapman’s Peak and Suikerbossie.
2) There are two distances: 109 Km. for the Cape Argus riders and 33 km. funride for the beginner cyclist. Both starting at Bekker Primary School near Magaliesburg situated off the R 24 on the Hekpoort road.
3) The 109 Km. race will be running up Hekpoort Hill followed by Poeierkop at the Telkom Satelite Station down to the Hartbeespoortdam and back through the Magalies Meander to Bekker Schools.
4) The race will be run according to the rules and regulations of the U.C.I., Cycling SA and C.N.G.
5) It is compulsory to wear a helmet: No Helmet, No Ridebr Please remember to fit your chip: No Chip, No Time
6) Obey all the Trafic rules and stay on the left side of the road. It is for your own safety, Those who do not adhere to the rules will be disqualified. There will be Marshalls and Traffic Officers at each intersection along the route. Please corporate with them as the safety of this cycling event is largely inn their hands.
7) On the road up Hekpoort hill the bundles will break-up creating smaller units of cyclist riding on the route which is safer for the riders than riding in big bunches.
8) There are four waterpoints along the route.
When taking on refreshments at waterpoints, move to the back of the bunch and to the left of the road to ensure safe passage.
Waterpoints are indicated on the route map.
9) Netcare 911 will provide the reaction unit and ambulance along the route to react on any emergencies if they occur.
10) Registration on Saturday at Bekker Primary School from 05h00 till 06h00

11) Accomodation is available at Bekker Primary School at R 50,00 p/p with a light breakfast at 05h30.

15) SS Timing is timing the event. Chips have to be rented @ R50, of which R50 will be refunded at the finish. Owners of SSTiming chips must register their chip number in their name with SSTiming at the start / finish line
