Anyone got a profile for the long road route? Who's done this race? Any comments, suggestions, tips...?

I LOVE this race. Dont know why.......think it is because the weather is always nice.
Check that bump at 45 km, usually split the bunch.

The bump at 80km will be a good place to say cheers to the bunch. - if you're a climber- hopefully you'll survive to the finish.
I'll wait for you at the top!

Where on the route would those bumps be? Where would 45 and 80km more or less. I know about the steep bump as you take the 2nd turn off left after you pass windmeul kelder. Just before you turn left again on the Paardeberg rd there is quit a serious bump. Would that be the bump at 45km?

jip, thats the 45 km bump. The 80 one is just outside durbanville. Longish drag, only tough on first couple of hundred meters. Panzy if you get dropped here after keeping with your group untill there.

Ok, let me tell you how to get rid of your group.

When you go up the drag passed Fisantekraal airpart, you go hard, on the other side its downhill to rest till you get the 4way stop, on this road you got 2 nasty bumps, go hard, ... so just before you get to the wellington road, (that long uphill drag), the bunch will be 50%.

Than go into Wellington (almost) and turn left, immeadiatly go hard on the first uphill and take the rest of the group with, do not attact on the last longish climb on that piece of road, you need some guys to stay away towards the malmesbury road.

On the malmesbury rd, it will be into the wind, do be foolish and try drop all before here, unless you pick up a group in front,

recover till the silos, turn right towards Adderley, 2 nice tough climbs (NASTY SHORT ONE's) , left again, some rollers, on a narrow road. If the wind blows south east, riders will ride again on the right, but with the deep rollining hills, its going to be dangerious as you can not see far infront for oncoming cars.

If you sits here in a bunch, your changes is Zero to ride away, the only thing left.?

the uphill sprint from the white bridge, wait till here to get 10 seconds on the other

to finish in position 178 instead of your group that finish 179 onwards.

For the G Group.... See you on saturday.

Dont worry! If you cant keep the pace i'll keep you company at the back. I cant seem to stay with the group anyway since my body tends to befriend all virusses that hang around (at least i hope that is the reason)
