I think we need to be like certain communities do, and SCAM him then klap him finished then there will be no more scamming, and nobody can be singled out as it was a group effort

Rules of thumb, also known as stereotypes:
1. West Africans are likely to scam you, 419's etc. DRC, Nigeys, Congolese, Ghanaians
2. You buy your cocaine and khat (that's the proper name) from Nigerians.
3. Ecstacy and acid comes from white dealers. The Nigeys will sell you mandrax but tell you its ekkers.
4. Mozambicans rob your house. South Africans and Zimbabweans, too.
5. Zimbabweans and South Africans hit cash in transit vans/pull off armed heists.
6. Malawians work hard, are honest and cheerful.

Hi all

Friendly word of warning:

I nearly got scammed by a black-sounding, French-sounding man last week. Goes by the name of Mike/michael.

Doesnt ask for details of the bike, just asks for bank details, and can he get the bike today.

Phone number: 0781939785

I phoned the bank, cos the funds show as available.. but its not really. 3 days later, the cheque bounced. Angry

Be careful!!

Regards
M

PS my Bianchi special edition is still for sale, see lower down this section.

Use to work for Dial-A-Bed and they had tried about everything with me. I always had a gut feel that never let me down though, but I had some fellow colleagues who let greed get the better of them, and well they all got screwed at least once.

Just an update people... I have had to close an account because of these pricks... Angry

In my case the person apprehended at the bank wasn't Israel who I spoke to on the phone, Israel is still at large. In my last SMS to him I asked him to bring his home boys and I would bring some of mine and we could f*&k it up like men... A response was not forthcoming...

There is nothing quite like the high of an adrenalin rush induced by sporadic, senseless gratuitous violence... Wink  In fact nothing comes close... When you beat someone senseles and you know it's one sided... There's an overwhelming sense of euphoria...

or a serious gutsy guy that gets away with it because people dont pay enough attention to things.

I may be slow, but even I know a cheque does not clear for 7 days, but the balance reflects.

I have a suspected scammer emailing me from my junkmail ad for the Trek frame I'm selling at the moment. Seems as if this guy is changing his modus operandi slightly. In stead of just asking for a bank account he has sent me a lengthy and eloquent email describing how he wants the bike for his son and he'll do a deposit in my bank or give me a bank guaranteed cheque.

My spider sense is tingling though so I've thrown him a few curve balls asking him about sizing and the group set they plan to put on the frame. How he responds will determine if i deal further with him.

I also said i prefer cash and if he doesnt like carrying that amount with him, we can go to the closest bank and do the deal there.

Will see what he says, but I'm not expecting a reply.

I dont feel comfortable just giving anyone my bank details, who knows what they do with that info

This is a 100% scam.
Dont be tempted. They did this with a friend of mine. They said they needed the bike urgently for their son for a race the next day and that they had a bank guaranteed cheque. Then they phoned and said they were running late but requested meeting at around 5?

My friend said that he would rather meet in banking hours and the guy became aggresive.

Its money in the account(Cleared funds) or its nothing Boys!Angry
