I haven't measured the narrowest part of the inner head tube, but...

Here's my conclusion without disassembling:

The lower part of the head tube is 52mm
The middle pare of the head tube is 42mm

The headset that fits is 44mm right?

That makes the thickness of the sidewall 4mm.

I quickly drew this on a piece of paper & from what I could see the head tube reaches the thinnest part +-25mm from the bottom / top which is 34mm. (supposed ID)

It should fit if the 1.5" fork has tapered down to 1.1/8 at 85mm from the crown. Bearing in mind the 10mm raise the lower cup will add, thus lowering the fork.

Does anyone have an idea how far from the crown the 1.5" has tapered to 1.1/8" ?

I thought of that while riding my bicycle.

Check the sram website tech section.

They have pdf drawings of forks, with dimensions.

Cool thanx BF!

By the theory above it doesn't seem like it will fit though Posted Image  it tapers out about 23mm too high!

Perhaps it's best to try a real sample just to make 100% sure

Ok, this bike has been seen a couple of times before, but she got a little wipe down over the weekend and I thought I would snap some shots off.

Nothing special RE the build, but she treats me well.
