I think the most dangerous place in the OVS is the border where Transvaal begins.

well just to be on the safe side - its probably not a good idea to go riding a R100k bike through an informal settlement - even in the free state...

My farther-in-law lives in Paul Roux and I know the area around there, from Bethlehem through Paul Roux up to Senekal quite well. Some lovely riding spots and mostly safe. However, I would still feel much safer riding with a friend than riding alone. Know of a guy who got stabbed in town in Senekal for a R1000 raleigh...
