Ya strange that ... a circuit that's suppose to be there to make things safer for us. And if there wasn't so much glass in the cycling lane one might actually be able to ride in it.
Pretty much everywhere in Durban is a danger area. Roads with shoulders (yellow lines) are pretty much non-existant. (Then again I haven't cycled here that much yet — I've lived here for 8 years already though.)

Up in Richardsbay we cycle at 4:45am to miss the traffic, but glass is very much an issue here as well. We cycle in groups. I often cycle alone as I cannot do a full distance due to time, so I have a frame bag with a .22 magnum in it. We have serious amounts of green belt, one of which is called little burundi, for obvious reasons. Best is to not cycle alone.

Done nearly 600 km's since the 22nd, mainly up past Verulam then onto Stanger and Ballito. Went past a load of settlements and nothing but smiles, then again I smile first. M4 is fun but I spent 10 years riding in London and NYC, so used to cars being close.
Will be heading up to PMB later on this month and possibly further, if anyone fancies a long trip.

When you say danger areas in Durban, what kind of dangerous, do you also mean the surrounding areas or just within the city?
