Stellenbosch:

Road

  • R304 at Kayamandi.  Watch for people loitering along the road.

  • R44 at Cloetesville; particularly on weekends, watch for groups parked out under the trees.

MTB

  • Papegaaiberg.

I think I must move to CT! If this is the only danger area and it is not Hijack related, then I may be tempted to relocate... and CT has brilliant MTB routes as well!! Work is just a bit of an issue...

When you're not training, someone else is, and when you meet them, they will beat you.

The Head of Security at Koeberg is my neighbour. If something like this happens PM me the details so that I can bring it to his attention.

Thanks for all the concern.
I was on my own and all they took was the R50.00 I had,  probably because I forgotten my phone at home.

Was on the way down to the dam area when three guys walked in front of me. One of them had a knife so I just gave him the money.

Been mugged once before and got stabbed three times so I didnt want to relive that experience.

Hey, this is quite a big worry for me as well!

I often go riding there.

The only thing that used to worry me was the Zebras that made me have to back track twice.

Seems like I will have to arrange group rides there now.

I am not really going to feel safe with two people will have to get three now.

Where exactly on the course did the mugging take place?

I have even been riding there in the dark a few times with a light, (winter rides) thats kinda out the window now.

oh well, now the big question

Dodge taxis with my road bike

or

potentially get attacked while mtbing

mmmmmm...........
