Its pretty flat with a few rollers then the you climb hels at about 100km then its downhill to the end.

Hectic fiinish with sweeping lefthand downhill section and slightly downhill finishing straight. I remember most guys got very nervous in the sprint, especially with the tight finish line!!!
Isn't this the one where Orca got busted? (both the man and the bike!)

Indeed, the same race, just a different date....was in Feb last year !

MTB route has changed a bit this year and is shorter...... thanks to the 4x4 & quad bikes use of Paarl....
To quote the organisor:
"The Management Team of the Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve decided very recently that the route around the Bethel dam has become threatened from an ecological perspective and have decided to disallow any traffic be it bicycles,motor cars,quad bikes or any other vehicle to use that section of the mountain.
We have tried from all angles over the last two weeks to persuade them otherwise but until this morning, without success.They are adamant that to much damage has been done by quad bikes and 4X4's with the result that cyclists are also negatively affected."
