Making up the rules as they go... He'll start with No.1, but he won't finish first. The most unexciting tour favourite since Miguel Indurain. My money's on some fellas with texture – Valverde's my bet for the win with Ricco my outsider.

Cunego seems to shine on steep climbs like they have in the Giro. Don't know how well he'll do on the longer climbs in the Tour. He's a great rider, but I don't fancy him to win the Tour. Of course for Ricco to be a podium contender, the race needs to be battled more in the mountains than the TTs. Can't flippen wait!

I dont think Ricco will be a podium contender, as much as I like his attitude and his ability is unquestionable, I just think its too much to ask of him now, a tough Giro in the legs will definately count later.
I have no doubt he will take the white jersey and I can see him walking away with the Polka dot jersey as well quite easily, but podium.............. not so sure.!

I am confident of Valverde and am fairly sure Cunego will make podium, as will Evans which rounds out the top three.

...........at the end of the day though, its all speculation is it not, we are just tossing around a dice, none of us can see into the future and anything may happen, !!

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.

That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away, and you have their shoes!.

Correct, widget. Speculation is what lubricates this website forum.

Ricco feels there are less title contenders for him to worry about at the Tour than there were at the Giro, but he does talk first and then think later which is most refreshing and exactly what young people should be doing! Either way, I think his presence will boost the race nicely.

That might be a great approach if you want to generate nice soundbites for desperate hacks, but not really good advice for real life (i.e. not cycling).  Do before you think?!  Why would that be a desireable trait?

Menchov and the Schleck brothers might surprise us this year.

I have been a Valverde fan for a very long time and I realy hope he can win this year!!!The rest of the poduim I think will be Evans and Menchov with Cunego and the Schleck brothers with a outside chance.

The perfect poduim for me would be Valverde,Cunego and Andy Schleck.Thumbs%20UpThumbs%20Up
