Berlin - Gerolsteiner rider Fabian Wegmann on Sunday successfully defended his German national road race title in a sprint finish ahead of veteran Erik Zabel.

OOTMARSUM - Lars Boom, of the Rabobank team, was on Sunday crowned Dutch road race champion after finishing two seconds ahead of teammate Koos Moerenhout and Steven de Jongh here.

Pfannberger attributed this important win to his new, Bianchi 928
Carbon, bicycle. "I quickly found a good rhythm with my new Bianchi, the bike is incredibly light and I am sure it really helped me win the race. I would like to thank Bianchi's team for their strong effort and technical support this season," said the 2008 national champion.
