Can't really say she failed.....she is up there racing, even if she is not in top 20, 40 or 50 for that matter. She might not get massive results on the international circuit. But for the ones that is coming thru like Mariska and Caitlin, can she be very valued as she has expierence on that level of racing and with the fact that she is there make it a little easier for upcoming riders to get into the international seen...

Failing will be if she stops cause she thinks she is not good enough and come back here to RSA and ride here only, winning maybe most races, but what does that going to show...??

Failure is definitely not thought about when you are racing at that level there are many aspects to take into consideration for yolande

but failure is not one of them she has true fighting spirit and just being able to say that she represented her country at WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS means far more to most people than winning a race but if you think failure is not coming in the top 10 then you are extremely mistaken because if she has failed can you go over there and do better???????

Ten years ago we had a lady that finished top 30 elite. So we're going backwards.
No, I'm not nasty, but its not good enough to get entry, you also need to perform.

So easy to be negative. It has become a national sickness, started by the journalists in this country. Good stories don't sell and it is much easier to find the bad or wrong than for a change look a bit deeper and find something positive.

I think I'm going to be sick if I have to read another negative reply.

A disappointing thread title that fails to impress, but it got me to look around a bit & I found YS's report on World Mtb xc champs in Scotland last year.

She came 31st, seems pretty good to me & she was happy so there you go.

judge not those who have tried and failed, judge those who have failed to try.

as such martelpypie i suggest you go crawl back under whatever little rock you were hiding under.

WELL DUNE to speedy for having tried to impress, having made it there to the worlds and having done her best - she has certainly impressed me!
