To Windy, To Cold.

And I'm originally from Cape Town so wind is not a problem for me, and I stayed in Chicago during multiple Winters so cold not a problem either.

Must admit I am really tired of winter. This winter I have had virtually zero cycling. My training has been limited to running and indoor swimming. Today is overcast and gray with a wind blowing. The wind will persist until end of Sept sometime. There's 2 things I dont like and they are the cold and wind.

I can think of a couple of much better places to be at in Cpt,

Even some of them include work place, got a friend who's office looks out over the harbour, he is high enough, great view, sitting right next to the floor to roof window.

or well.... the Radison porch.

Cold, overcast - but no options this morning. Got a 70k in. Way behind training for Cape Pioneer due to persistent flu this winter. Will have to do the same tomorrow, regardless of weather.

As per usual, feel much better after a good ride. NOW, time for biltong and test cricket.
I'm not saying that I'm Batman.
I'm just saying that no one has ever seen me and Batman in the same room together.

I love August. Crisp morning, stunning days mixed with wet stormy days. This morning cycling was amazing. freezing but no wind other than what was a result of descending the Jonkershoek trail.

best part is that after work it does not get dark for most part of the trying rides and with the light setup that i can run it never get dark.

It was overcast but not really cold, got in a 50km MTB ride.
When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the shed, the boat, always something more important to me. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house.. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed her a toothbrush. I said, "When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway." The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.

Suffered in Snor City yesterday. Road cycling on the MTB 30km/h average on the out ride finished with an average of 25km/h. Wind was in the face all the way home. Not even the downhills were fun. Only did 60 odd km's.

At least it wasn't cold.

Started off as a cold, windy and overcast morning and turned into a warm, sunny and windy afternoon! On days like this I prefer doing shorter, hilly rides and have some fun. Beats fighting the wind! But at least we can ride in winter! In Gauteng anyway..!

I managed two hours on the IDT. While the neighbour kid washed my dog.
There is evil! It's actual, like cement... I can't believe it. I can't stand it. Evil is not a view... it's an ingredient in us. In the world. Poured over us, filtering into our bodies, minds, hearts, into the pavement itself.Posted Image
