A short introduction, I have been browsing this forum for several months now and have been quite entertained with all the different debates and views on all things cycling... 26er v 29er...

Anyway, I have been into MTB for about 2 years now and love it. I upgraded my entry level bike to a Silverback Mercury 2 in 2010. it was a great bike at a good price. Anyway I was away last week on a 5 day cycle tour though the Baviaanskloof to Wilderness and after the tour I took the bike in for a service. The bike shop phoned a bit later to tell the frame was cracked and the bike could not be ridden.

I took it to the bike shope where I bought it on Saturday and on Tuesday I went to collect my "new" bike. Silverback had replaced the frame with a 2012 Mecury 1 frame and the bike shop built it up for me at no charge. I was really impressed with Silverback and the bike shop (Cycle Factory) with sorting it all out.

Just thought I should put it out there because nowdays good customer service is hard to come by.

I have got two silverbacks and I love my bikes! They are fantastic!

+1 to Cyclefactory, I have had some excellent service from them as well.
Love is giving someone what they most need, when they least deserve it at great personal cost

Plus 1 for Silverback, earlier this year i took my Silverback ModaNine in for service, they mentioned that there were a few problems with some bikes and would check mine out. Went to collect and they presented me with a new Mercury frame and parts swapped over, Silverback had given them the go ahead to replace even  though they found nothing wrong.
When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the shed, the boat, always something more important to me. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house.. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed her a toothbrush. I said, "When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway." The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.

Eish that is quite a nasty crack.

Could have been ungly, if they didn't pick that up
