How best do I monitor data on my iPhone?

Your phone needs to obtain settings from the wifi (or have static settings configured) to enable it to resolve names to IP addresses. These settings must be configured on the router. Check your PC settings - find the network connection and see if it is set to automatically obtain settings. If not then you need to enter static settings on your phone to use it.

Yup, that's about it. Not going to prevent data transfer.

Got "Data Monitor", "Onavo" and "My Data Manager" running on the the phone now and will decide which one works best. Thanks for the advice.
