Was so epic!

I think strombergs held back to save his energy, spending just enough to get into the final, where the other guys seemed as if they were gunning it the whole day, so then he had the most energy and he won the final.

Thats just my 2c what do you guys think?

Update on my new bmx:
Me and my dad went cruzing through cape town and went looking for a first hand bmx and all we could find was a Blank for R4000. I think we'll stick to secondhand...
I was thinking the same thing, that or he was just trying not too crash but at the same time qualify as well. Whatever it was awesome tactic which paid off.

Imagine needing that much stopping power on a race bike, totally overkill if you ask me

could it be bling factor or weight savings?

more stoping power and better feel/modulation were probably the thoughts behind the design. as UDX says, whether they're needed on a race bmx is questionable

Weight wise, disc brakes are heavier

Well then it's overkill, IMO ony time u need breaks is to avoid a crash, that's when there is a pile up in front of you & you are way behind in the case of the Swiss rider yesterday, when u side by side u either going down or u hit The breaks & go out the back, inevitably u lose the race & for when u cross the finish line.
