The size if the crowds in attendance was brought up elsewhere. Related to this subject I thought this made for interesting reading...

Some broad assumptions in there, but very relevant conclusions.
As a Durbanite, I can vouch that we just seem to be less inclined to get out of the comfort zone for any live event. Not sure what contributes to this, but whether it's a rugga game, concert, festival, crowd attendance is generally poor in comparison to other cities. Which is why most bands don't even bother coming down to Durbs.
Sad, but true.

Its easier to watch either at home or the rugby club, no issues regards drinks, eats and crowd (mis)behavior.
I used to about 10 years ago (company had suite box at stadium) but found it a hassle.

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the shed, the boat, always something more important to me. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house.. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed her a toothbrush. I said, "When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway." The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.

I can say that I always used to go watch Ajax play at Newlands. It used to cost R20 per game. Now the price has gone up I dont go anymore and the crowds are alot less. I think price does play a role as well as food prices at these events.

We had a bigger crowd for Critical Mass than the average Lions game at Ellis Park last Friday night. Sad thought...
Pain is a universal language. It requires no translation... CAAD4.
