Say something was posted online a year and a half ago, and the format of the site on which it has been published has changed, is there any way of being able to find a version of how it appeared originally?

Chances are that if just the front end of the site were changed and they kept the database the same, it should be available. Probably in an archive section.

He wants it how it looked on the old site, not the old content on the new site. Admin probably has a copy of the old code somewhere.
