has this happend to anyone?

I had my MTB at the lbs because I complained about the brakes etc, on a brand new bike, I got the bike back and on my first ride on the very first climb as I stood up to start pedaling harder I just saw the gravel coming closer, and over the handlebars I went,  I couldnt understand what had happend, but as as I looked back I saw my back wheel came off,

Must have been a codac moment!!!

at least my back wheel has more free flow since I had put it back myself

Jip, same happened to me after a bike service. Just as I stood up to power up a little wooden bridge at Groenies, the wheel popped out and I went over the bars. Bombs away!!!

Or sometimes they don`t tighten the steerer then your handlebars point right but your wheel still points straight into a turn. But nooooo you must support your lbs. They mark prices up beyond affordability. But nooooo you must support your lbs. Blind loyalty, is that not also why SA is going down the stinker?

I did go back there today, claiming a skewer fail, which is BS as I cycled about 20km after that with no problem

It could have been your front wheel and that can't end to good.
I always check my skewers before a ride.

What a load of bollocks, how would the skewer have failed? It would have had to break, for the wheel to come out, I would be back at that LBS skewering the owner & mechanic.

Learnt to always check things when I get my bike back from the LBS ... actually the bike rarely goes to the LBS anymore. Unless I don't have any specialist tools I do it myself.

Ive had both 1 x steerertube not tightened correctly murphy's law doing some technical ST handlebars are straight while my front wheel turned sideways luckally managed to bail and not hurt myself.

Had a rear wheel come loose, that said however, I have knocked a CR on a rock before that loosened the skewer and it fell out too.

Bottom line is precheck everything on your bike before you go regardless if its been serviced.
Im a Alcoholic with a mountain biking problem :\
