I think i just hit rock bottom with Cajees.

Firstly a few months ago i was in the process of upgrading my old-ass hardtail to a dualie, anyways i was calling around for a few prices... I called Cajees in Fourways, and they didnt have stock of what i was looking for, in a medium (he doesnt tell me the price which is why i called). So instead of saying let me give you the price and i can  source it for you or let me try another branch - No no no this guy starts telling me i dont know what it is im looking for, so he can measure me and tell me the correct size i need (hmmm) - This dude has never even seen me before but hes going to tell me the size i know i need is wrong ???

So i tell the guy, listen you are really not hearing me, this is the size i need... So then he starts telling me that what i really want is a hardtail.... ??? Enough said, that was when i hung up.

Yesterday i was on the Westrand, rushing between meetings and needed to get a few things, so i asked one of my colleagues where i could find a bike shop in the area as im not too familiar ... He says Cajees -  Now i really didnt want to go, but i thought fourways has been bad in the past... this will be alright...

So i walk in grab all the stuff i need, no assistance what so ever... get to the till & 2 a-holes sit there watching a DVD they have just downloaded and are discussing the quality, *COUGH COUGH* these guys are so important that they hear me and dont even make a motion to look up.

Just at that second i remembered that Eagle canyon cycles is around the corner, left the stuff on the counter and took a walk - i wonder if they have even noticed it there yet.

As it is, Cajees is possibly the most overpriced bike shop about, their bad service and lack of knowledge really gets to me.

However i could just be looking at it from the wrong perspective, maybe im just spoilt for service, knowledge and price at my LBS (Linden Cycles.)

I bet there are 100's more who could say the same about their experience at Dodgees. Golden rule - avoid Cajees at all cost and if you are forced to go there offer 50% of the marked price cos it's already overpriced!!!!!

Dealt with Cajees this morning. R995 for a saddle that retails for R650 everwhere else.

Best price they could give me was R750 claiming it was their cost price. Had a moer of a laugh over that.

Goodness. Mike is not known for his good pricing either. But you pay for a quality service.
I love to ride fast. That is why I hate uphills.

Go there if you see a big ticket item that you want cheaper than anywhere else.

This is not the first time Cajees have been tea-bagged :whistling:
I have never heard anything good about them and thus have never supported them, even told friends they are better off elsewhere.....

Don't even consider it! Besides what are they going to do after a month or riding? Unless your gears need adjusting (which most LBS will do gratis if you walk in) or there is something that is definately wrong. Your bike should be still be in near perfect working order. This talk of having to 'tighten' things after a month is BS Sales blurb!!!!

Rather go somewhere else - to a LBS that you trust.

New cables tend to stretch a bit which becomes noticeable after a few weeks of use. WPrincess, you may as well find a good LBS close to where you stay now and start developing a relationship with them. Adjusting cables is a 2 minute job and will most likely be free if you take it to them when it isn't busy.

NNoooo....take it somewhere else. Service at your LBS will be better, thats for sure, and worth paying for the peace of mind of avoiding their "free" service.

If you commute to Midrand, I'm trying Summit Cycles for a while. If they consistently do good work, I'll stick with them.
