Tonsilitis

This past 9 weeks have been a nightmare. These super bugs that our kids bring from pre-school are stuffing me around. My son gets a sniff at the most, but eish for the 4th time I woke up, sore throat, ears the works(two times it turned into tonsilitis). And nothing works. I stopped smoking, eat more healthy than ever, daily stuff for allergies etc etc.
Worst of all is that its stuiffing my training around big time! Comments/advise welcome!

Otherwise, I've been around people recently who have had them out recently and the older you get the tougher it is. But its still better than getting tonsilitis every year, apparently.

Only weird thing was that I completely lost the ability to taste anything sweet for about 3 months after the op.

I need to have mine taken out (again) as they grew back and the last 12 months has been hell. Had it again last week.

Yeah, I found a new friend too, and yeah she's pretty and she's small,

Not the answer you'd like but that depends. If you are hospitalised, and the procedure is covered (some entry level plans have exclusions), then it should all be paid for by the medical aid. UNLESS of course the specialist who performs the procedure charges more than your medical aid covers you for, then you are liable for the difference. UNLESS you have gap cover in which case that will cover the shortfall from the medical aid.
Bottom line, you are better off phoning your medical aid to confirm.

Basically just wanted to clarity/surety for myself that it would be the right thing to do. Doctors appoinment made, need to get a referral first. (Thanks for the outstanding wild piece of advice, Joe Low
I would rather have pain/discomfort for a week or so, even if the recovery is hectic, than to continously have tonsilitis. PLus it would be the right time to do it now, so I can be ready to rock n roll in summer.
I buddy of mine went a few years ago,and he recovered quickly, miost important thing he mentioned was to start eating normal foods asap afterwards. You dont want to have a scab forming, and keep the wound moist, heals quicker apparently.
