Mate of mine just had hes car stolen at Groenies. Looks like thieves have identified it as a oppurtunistic spot. So for what is worth,be alert for suspicious character’s and when you push your remote ensure your car is actually locked.

I go there allot on my one to run in the week and mostly it's deserted. Still I have always felt "safe" there.

But this is probly more a weekend thing when there are more people ?

As you go in , first left into the main parking , down at the bottom. And on sat a morning, the place was packed.
Tracker got it, but in two hours they had basically stripped out all the contents, seats, carpets ,dash, most probably looking for the tracker.

They where concerned and offered to call the cops.
Asked for hes email address so that they could get in touch with him later.

This is a bummer. Always considered it one of the safest venues around. Maybe they could use the card system they used at the Groenkloof/Fountains gate for cars? You can't leave unless you return the card you get at the entrance?

Car theft seems to have rocketed in the PTA area.

not a bad idea, but i dont know about you guys, but i always leave those tickets in my car. I know i shouldnt, but i do.

Car theft at races are also a big problem . Before Babaas got new security a few cars got stolen there . At the Military race a few months ago a car got stolen .
