So My wifie eventually cracked under the pressure & got herself a Blueberry 9790
on her upgrade. The problem is that the battery only lasts 8 - 10 hours. Is that normal
or is the phone not lekka?? (not that i think it's a lekka phone in any case)
She does the bbm thing & whats app's quite a bit, using our wi-fi at home
but doesnt really phone much or play vids etc etc.

Any knowledgeable gumberry operators out there with any advice??

I don't own one but 8-10 hours sounds reasonable for a smartphone.

See if you can upgrade it. I heard BB OS 7.1 brought some battery improvements.

I dunno. I think 8-10 hours is crap. I get 2-3 days on my galaxy. Will check out the OS thing though

I have a friend who bought an extra battery because his Crackberry doesn't last a day. There is a reason RIM is going under.

Whatsapp is a battery burner of note!

Our company uses blackberry for roaming email. There's a couple of tricks you can do. One of the most practical is to fully close apps rather than leave them running in the background. The second link has an explaination on how to do that amongst other tips.
