Get one from Earthfire. Rika who co-owns it with her husband is a mountain biker so you will be getting riding karma points. Plus they are ceramic and do an AMAZING job of warming a space.

Not at all stupid. We got one that closes, and despite what Morso told us, closing it actually robs the room of about 65% of the heat; sure, it burns slower and longer, but I'd rather have the heat.

Stay with Morso or biofire, one on the new generation units, the technology is amaizing and the heat doesnt go straight out the flue.
Italcotto has a new unit that runs on pellets http://www.italcotto.co.za/

my old queen ann stove is still going strong after being in the family for 58 years. every now and then i just buy new plate for about R60.and you make coffee and soup on it.a bit of a mission to clean it though but after cleaning it myself for just about 30odd years it is easy.
even if i do not agree with you i will fight till death for your right to disagree with me. voltaire

I'm not sure, but it's in a pretty small room - yup, they are not cheap, stay in the house for many years to enjoy it :)

Got an Amalfi closed fireplace with glass front. In an open lounge / kitchen / dining scenario (probably about 90 sqm). It heats that on 8 pieces of wood per evening (possibly 4 hours of heating). Am very happy to see my colleagues with open fires burning tons of wood to get some heat...

We have a closed fireplace which hails from Chile called Amesti. Bought ours from Jetmaster. I see they are still the agents: http://www.amesti.co.za/contact.html

Was much cheaper than Morso. Got the Nordic 380 fully installed for less than R10k 4 years ago. I wouldn't change it for anything. I don't think I'd manage if it pumped out any more heat into our large double volume lounge.
I love to ride fast. That is why I hate uphills.

Morso are an old customer of mine. I highly recommend them.

Ditto
When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the shed, the boat, always something more important to me. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house.. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed her a toothbrush. I said, "When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway." The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.
