"The brain child of Daniel Graham (@Cpt.Grimmy) the #moonlightmass is a casual night bicycle ride starting at the Green Point Circle on a full moon once a month. Started as a social experiment on twitter the ride has been gaining popularity and on our last ride we had about 140 riders raising awareness for cycling safety."

It's on tonight, 5 April, at Greenpoint circle, at 21:00 - 21:15. Lycra unnecessary.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Great initiative it seems. Do all the participants to wear helmets and have front and back lights to drive the safety message home?

I like the idea, but as Mango says, its for cycling safety and most of the pics in the link show no lights or helmets.
Maybe as it gains popularity this will become more of an issue.
I will never be as Badass as Iron's entire family.   Oh...and I am petrified of drunken T-rex's.

Answered.
There is evil! It's actual, like cement... I can't believe it. I can't stand it. Evil is not a view... it's an ingredient in us. In the world. Poured over us, filtering into our bodies, minds, hearts, into the pavement itself.Posted Image

I'm busy negotiating with the Domestic Authorities to let me out of a dinner arrangement early, I hope you know how many times I'm going to be forced to go shopping if she OKs this very tempting ride!

To tell the truth, I haven't been on yet. I think it's through Greenpoint, up Long Street ... from there, I'm not sure. I'm guessing maybe back down Loop and through the Waterfront onto Beach Road.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

All the information is on the #moonlightmass website: http://www.moonlightmass.co.za :)

Or on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.../moonlightmass/

"#moonlightmass route : we all meet under the Greenpoint turning circle @21:00 at around 21:20 we head towards the waterfront and cut through using a special route by @CTBikeCommuter then along the beach front promenade up along the fan mile to @LongStreetLife and eventually making our way to @andUnion for an ice cold beer and some snacks"

I'll take that as a compliment, thanks. But I do think if the aim is to raise awareness for cycling safety, then cyclists need to be wearing helmets and be visible (at night). To re-iterate, it's a great initiative.
