Congratulations to the ASG Racing teams for their performance at the Optimum Berge en Dale Classic, here are some race highlights:

ASG Under 23 Racing Team
As the National Championship draws near the U/23 team is showing that they are in top condition.

The team is starting to race very well as a unit and covering moves of the bigger teams that’s launched on very difficult stages of the race. The race on Saturday was incredibly fast again with average speeds of 43.5km/h so no break could get away. The current races are not in favour of the ASG riders as the terrain is very flat but this should prove to be another story at the SA’s in Nelspruit.

There seems to be a great vibe amongst team members with the inclusion of Rian Gouws which is sure to make a big difference in races that finish in bunch sprints. Rian showed good form during time trail efforts yesterday at the Team Training Ride.

ASG Junior Racing Team
The ASG juniors proved again this weekend that they are in a class above the rest when it comes to team work. Being such a small team compared to the other bigger teams you have to play your cards right and that’s just what they did.

While the bigger teams were watching our 2nd year juniors Rohan du Plooy and Wesley Eslick our first year U/23 riders got into the break and for the 2nd weekend in a row managed to take Ryan Felgate to VICTORY!
Ruan Kruger managed a brilliant ride at the start and is also proving to be in equally good form for National Championship as domestic for Rohan and Wesley.

Ryan Felgate together with two other riders got into a break at 50km into the race but Ryan managed to shake them off at 5kms to the finish line to take 1st place.
