32Gi has officially launched its RTD 32Gi SPORT

32GI SPORT is the first low GI Sports Drink on the market in South Africa.
Using a unique blend of carbohydrates the drink has been structured to provide the equivalent sugar response of a banana. A combination of quick and stability carbohydrates, providing an excellent balance of energy.

Its suitable for all types of sport and when needed on the go.

Available this week in Dis-Chem and slowly rolling out across the country will keep you posted of the stockists as they take on product.

Can i replace my pre race bottle of 32GI with this RTD? Take into consideration that i eat 60g oats (raw weight) with 2 teaspoons of honey about 2 to 2.5hrs pre race and a bottle of 32GI 1hr pre race

Ok, here's a challenge.

Instead of buying a Coke (or Vitamin "Sugar" water) at lunchtime, buy a 32GI SPORT drink. Let MDW know how you feel and how much weight you lose and I'm sure he'll have a nice goodie bag for someone.

I'm going to do the same (I lurve Coke) and will update you on my progress.
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. They wake up in the morning and that's the best they're going to feel all day

Just understand there is a difference in this drink and our low GI endurance and our higher GI accelerate, its a 3 carbohydrate blend with a GI in between the 2. Its not used for pre-loading, BUT certainly during an event it would be perfect. Its also of course much healthier than a Vitamin Water or Coke as far as the insulin response goes, definitely a healthier option :-)

Being a very ardent supporter of 32gi I have to say now I'm somewhat perplexed Mark. I use the Endurance mainly for long training rides, DC etc. I also have used the Accelerate for races and will look at the new Recover drink. All these product are pretty self explanatory but what or how does this new line differ? As I've said before, I've been using the Endurance from day one and works well for me and my goals.

Hi Abercrombie, its a ready to drink it targets the mass market not just the endurance athlete, its for a soccer player cricket player, rugby and squash player, so its been designed to incorporate slow and fast releasing carbs in order to ensure a broad market range is covered. We also sponsor a lot of events and this is the drink we actually sachet for the competitors providing a balanced level of energy but not to high and not too low. I personally use Endurance and Accellerate and would not switch to this, but if I was running and stopped at a garage shop and had the choice of coke energade or the 32GI RTD I would not hesitate as to which to consume ;-). Keep with what you know this is energy on the go ;-)

Hi Mark, thanks for that. Makes a bit more sense.
Personally I've found these products brilliant, did as you suggested in DC in taking in the Endurance for the first half and then changing to Accellerate halfway through and had 45min shaved off my previous time.
Thanks again for your help.

How does its sugar and carbs compare to those of Coke?
And whats the cost likely to be?

Hi Richard
Comparing Coke and 32Gi RTD is like apples and oranges. Coke contains the following sugar or high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, caffeine, phosphoric acid, coca extract from a health perspective this is really bad. The 32Gi RTD is a sports drink and designed as such, it contains 3 carbohydrates, one fast releasing which is pure liquid glucose, and then 2 stability carbs one assisting in maximizing absorption the other providing a balanced and sustainable supply for a few hours, minimizing the risk of post exercise glycaemia, it also contains the much needed electrolytes ratio for proper hydration. The product contains NO stimulants at all, is child safe and actually has the sugar response of a banana. We use a 7-8% carb to liquid ratio which is perfect for a sports drink I hope this helps, but remember an energy drink and a sports drink are very different in design and functionality.
all the best M

Are you guys planning on selling it in a concentrated form (like energade, Power Aid, etc) which have to be dilluted with water?

Not in the RTD as Endurance and Accelerate are our powder forms for bottle mixing.

You are looking at around R13 - R16 a bottle. Remember this is not plain sugar waters is a very expensive and premium drink the ingredients are 4 times more expensive than a Vitamin water which retails at the same price.
Dischem has already ordered stock not sure which ones exactly but quite a few hundred bottles have gone to them already. We are looking at national distribution already and will post the stockists as they come on board.
