So, did everyone enjoy the little tiff between Louis and the TSA officials before the race?

Please give details.

I don't want to be a rumour mongerer, but it's safe to say they don't see eye to eye.
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. They wake up in the morning and that's the best they're going to feel all day

What you observed is not rumour mongering. Absence of detail is what leads to rumours. As a registered athlete, I would love to know why my elected TSA official is wanting to strong arm a microphone from a respected member of the sport community.

All that happended is Louis told the athletes that he thinks this whole matter was handled very unprofessionaly and that Spectrum did NOT apologise as it was said on TSA website, the reason he said this was TSA made it look like this whole issue was Spectrum sports fault and never apologised for their role in this matter. a TSA official took exception to what was said (dont know why) and tried to take the mic away from Louis. well ja.... then some verbals were exchanged etc etc but in the end a damn good event took place again. so all in all an exciting day  on the racing side of things WOW Sylvia Van Tromp blew everybody away on the olympic swim leg, leading out the men and women! i loved the comment from The mens winner Ross Koch " i dont know who that girl is? but boy she can swim"

Glen Gore showed he still has what it takes as he was first out of the swim in the Ultra race

congrats to all the finishers and all the TSA agegroup medalists

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally used up and worn out, shouting '..man,what a ride!

Sounds like they all could learn a little about PR and keeping the fights behind closed doors.

Thanks for clarifying what happened.

Now I wonder what this will mean for the Buffelspoort race? Will it still go ahead?

I heard that the cycle was 10k's short and that some people were prevented form doing a second lap on the run. Is that correct?

I also noticed that the cycle was 80km and when I was coming in on the run people were being pulled off the route as apparently there was a cut off of 13:30 - which I do not remember seeing anywhere - so thought it was bad to be pulling people when there was no cut off advertised (that I remember - but could be wrong)

this is the first im hearing of people being pulled off the run. i know that there was one lady that was picked up with about 10 kms to go with five minutes before the cut off. other than that i dont know of anybody? if you have specific details please pm me the details. the cycle route was 80 km as per the long distance(02) ITU requirements. Guys remember this was a ITU sanctioned long distance event and not a WTC 70.3 event hence the difference in distance

People were also pulled off during the run at the Suncoast Triathlon, with no warning or mention of it.

very poor organisation I think!
