I did my first Argus in 2009 and the goodie bag was superb!! The last two years have left much to be desired. Especially after 2009.

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Damn! I missed 2009's goody bag. 1st Argus 2010.

I see the goody bag as a bonus rather than an expectation. You will never be disappointed then

I prefer them to supply something new stock that we have not tried or heard about it.......

I know everybody will be happy if they get bottles, tubes, puncture repairs etc....

The usual rubbish you don't need and no, unlikely. Bit like the medals this one, someone has "the contract" to dish out the lucky packets. I'd rather see that money spent on something useful.

The goody bag was GREAT in 2009, the 2 R 400 fines I got for parking on the "middel mannetjie" were not... :cursing: :cursing: :cursing:

I would guess the contents will be flyers, discount vouchers for stuff you would never normall consider, weird sample packs and perhaps an out of date Cycle mag.
Actual value of the contents: perhaps R 10.
Imagine that amount multiplied by each entrant being donated by the CTCCT on behalf of all the riders to a charity like the SPCA, Carthorse Project or Peoples DIspensary for SIck Animals?

Challenge: I will hazard a guess and say the Goodie Bag will be disappointing and for that, donate R 100 to an Animal Charity. If any of you out there are not happy with the Goodie Bag, donate R 10 and let's support a good cause. I'll volunteer to collect and pay over the money to the charity or charities (if there is a good amount collected we could give to more than one charity). Should there be a strong uptake, I will speak to Dave Bellairs about making it a bit more formal and collecting money at Registration.

We can call it : "Bike for a Brak"

If they are willing to give R10 to an animal charity instead of giving me a crappy goody bag they can keep the goody bag.

The manne who want to give something for charities..... put your munny where your mouth is and rather give something substantial, something like R1000 instead of a paltry R10.00. Tell us which charity and I am sure many will do the same.

I hear this year they will be including a new Pinarello in the bag. It will be in sachet format. You'll need to add water. And it will have to be bottled water purchased at Pick n' Pay. Otherwise it won't work.

There will also be spray-on Assos kit - in a cute pink aerosol which can be stored comfortably up your rectum whilst riding. But only if you are already wearing Assos shorts on your ass.
I did everything by the seat of my pants. That's why I got hurt so much.
