I was wondering if you do the race in under 3 hours if you can still make assumption that you are on tract for sub 3 Argus.

I know that terms and conditions apply - besides my mirror tells me that we are going to have a windless and overcast day this year.

In similar conditions add ten minutes to Dischem time - that's what my results tell me for sub three in both. T's & C;s apply.

Joker, the Ride for Sight is 116km, right!? I did it in 2009 (the year of the wind) in 3:02, Argus in 3:32. With the post mortem of what would have been if not for the wind, the majority of the clever guys said that my time would have translated to about a 2:50 without the wind.
So yes, a sub 3 RFS should give you a sub 3 Argus (WEATHER PERMITTING   )

Based on my following times, I'd say it's realistic, but not guaranteed:

2007
Ride 4 Sight - 3:12:58
Argus - 3:14:38

2008
Ride 4 Sight - 3:03:57
Argus - 2:54:47

Thank you - I am aiming for 2:55 Ride for Sight - If I can have a Ave speed of 37Km/h should do for both Argus and Ride for Sight.

Got a D seeding for Argus

its a difficult assumption to make
my take is, R4S "much" easier than Argus
last year in near perfect conditions in both - 2:43 R4S, 2:57 Argus
so safe to say if you can do sub 2:50 R4S , sub 3 Argus possible

Hey. I just realised, we actually got Lotto money for this race last year. I must check if we did again this year. And it's on the ekurhuleni.gov.za website.

One of the important things I learnt about the Argus is to get to Simon's Town on the hour (40Km/h average) and you should be set-up for a sub-3. Again, weather permitting.

Frosty - we went through Simons T last year in about 1:05, its a bit of a challenge now with Boyes drive...........
but weather permitting is the operative wordin the Argus :)
