Hey all

Havent been on the hub for a while, so dont know wether this stuff has come up recently or not?

Bit of a noob to MTB, and have been struggling to keep my chain and all the rest clean with out decreasing it to the extend that when the bike stands for a couple of days the drivetrain and all the rest begin to rust.
Nothing like a sea breeze to get the corrosives exited.

Any how, stumbled across the purple extreme the other day.

Works wonders to clean the chain. And once clean it's ready to ride. Take the chain off the bike. Give it a good scrub with a bit of dishwash liquid. Rinse and let it dry. Hold it from the one end in the air, apply the purple stuff from the top and let it run down the chain(works best if chain has been standing in sun for a while). Run chain through your hands to spread the purple extreme and loosen any remaining grit. Take a clean rag and pull chain through it.

Let me know what you think.

Ive seen the light.

Sounds like you use a lot, but Ive hardly made a dent in my 120ml bottle. A little goes a long way. Used about one tenth of the bottle so far.

All the other stuff I have tried works well, but realy gunges up all my components, and is hard to clean off.

All the best

Hi #RAH#

Yip, I have tried that stuff before.

I got around 90km out of an application (two rides) before I had to reapply (in the conditions where I stay).

That was not enough, and I tried some other stuff as well.

Using ChainL no5, and getting around 200km out of an allpication.
This suits me better

Enjoy your riding

As the ChainL stuff is a thick oil you would expect it to last longer, purple extreme is as thin as water almost, and yes it works very good.

im very happy with purple extreme.... To me it seems like the happy medium between a very clean product and its lube qualities!! Sure, motor oil is probably the best lube, but is disasterously messy... and some of those dry wax lubes are very clean, but within 40km's the chain is squeeking and ultimately wearing!!
