Where is Wetton? Mountain or road?
It's not the speed that hurts... It's the sudden stop!

Howzit- New to the forum, mountain biking and Cape Town!

Where are some good routes to start? My wife and I are keen to do some routes on the weekend. I took her along a route on the mountain near Vredehoek...but it proved to be too steep and difficult and I bore the brunt of some nasty glances for the duration of the cycle. Any advicewould be great.

Thanks,

Dylan

Hi

I usually do constantia neck back down down pass constantia village towards tokai. I see quite a few mtb on the tokai rd "not sure of the correct name" but it leads pass pollsmore. There are a few trails along that road perhaps that would be a good start.

Also try cycling to simons town, quite as nice road and view along the sea and its flat  .

Chapmans peak is also a nice ride.

Thats about all the info i can give you for now.

Happy riding and hopefully less nasty glances from the S.O

Many Lemons- sorry still no idea. I have only be living here for 9 years. I do mtb so not much help either!!
Dylan- you are not going to find much flat in Cape Town for mtb'ing unless you go to Koeberg. Try Tokai. I ride there and it might be alittle hard to start but keep at it you will get used to it. If you can try some of the races. There are normaly a few distances so you can go the easy route till you feel the need to hammer the longer one. Enjoy and good luck with the stares!!

Lol ok, well if you looking to put in some road km's then we can discuss the logistics abit further. But as a last parting land mark - Kenilworth Race Course where the J&B Met is held im close to that :D
