I read somewhere that there is a chain catcher as part of the FD.... is that true? Saw pics of it somewhere.......

I dropped my chain at the top of ou kaapse today, luckily I had a lead on the next guys, I got back on as they passed me.

Time to invest in a chain catcher me thinks.

Happened to MTB_Roadie too! At the top of ou kaaps. He was leading and broke away - only got 4th at the finish. Rising stars group.

I don't have such a larney one - I got myself the deda dog fang one - cyclelab sells it for something like 30 bucks.
2007 CIOCC (bought from ETXEONDO, delivered by Ysterperd), 2011 Sram Force Grouppo (thanks Desmondalie), Shimano WH-R601 Wheelset (Thanks Boris), Selle Italia SLR 2012 Saddle (Thanks Rob!), Selcof Carbon wrap Stem and carbon seat post with ITM alu bars and expander (Thanks Etxeondo), Speedplay Zero s/s pedals.

Kit: Bell helmet, Rudy Noyz ImpactX Photochromic, Rock Racing jersey, Jaggad bib, Sidi Energy Comp 2, Garmin Edge 800

MTB_Roadie rides Sram Force.

Force derailleur is billed to be more reliable than Red.

Hmmm... hy is seker weer de donder in vandag. :whistling:

What gruppo you use, Zac.A?

With my Sram Red, my front shifting is always a bit dodgy - specifically from small to big blade.
Red FD very twitchy.
Never had to stop though. Could always correct it without losing too much speed.

Happened in the beginning just as I was about to attack as I already had a bit of a gap :(

I was pissed yes, but then the whole way cycling up I was thinking how kak Andy Schleck must have felt....I am buying a chain catcher this week, it happened as I shifter from the big blade to the small blade and then the chain got stuck between the blades, then it fell off...then got stuck in the BB :(
Unknown: "Are you Andy Schleck?"....me: "Why?"....Unknown: "Because your chain fell off when you shifted on the climb...."....me: "Yes I am..."

Team - Brothers Sport
Road machine - Fondriest TF2 powered by SRAM Force and Agogo Carbon Clinchers!!
Offroad machine - Giant XTC 29er

Yeah, Andy had the yellow jersey on his back at the time and a few stages away from Paris.
So close!

hi guys..

To Dale, no sorry didnt get the powermeter, there was a limit in my budget
as for Edge, sorry no connection to the shop in that way, just happy customer, the hubs full of complaints about shops so why not praise where praise is due.
it wasnt an advert just an excited cyclist.... and a press realise, as it was the easiest way to answer any questions I would have gotten.

Also Force, thinking of an upgrade to red, but only next year at the earliest...
