Alright, anyone else got their starting time on inbox?

Just got this;


In just less than six weeks’ time you will be lining up at the start of the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour and we know that you are eagerly awaiting your seeding and start time!

We have made small changes to the start line-up in the interest of your safety and to ensure that the later groups cross the start line timeously. You have therefore been seeded according to the following guidelines:

Participation in Seeding Events

If you participated in any of our official seeding events (see below), we calculated your index by taking into consideration:
- the distance and degree of difficulty of the course
- the size of the field and
- conditions on the day
- combined with your race result in relation to the winner’s time.

2011 Seeding Events
The following 2011 events were used for seeding:

Herald VW Tour (105 km) - Port Elizabeth
Reeds Chevrolet Ninety Niner (108 km) – Durbanville, Cape Town
Dischem Ride for Sight (116 km) – Boksburg
Daily Dispatch / Felt Cycle Tour (100 km) - East London
Mountain 2 Mountain (106 km) – Tzaneen
Dome 2 Dome Cycling Spectacular (98 km) – Johannesburg
Kumba Iron Ore Classic (105 km) – Upington
Rand Water Race for Victory (101 km) – Johannesburg
Amashova Durban Classic (106 km) – Durban
Bestmed Jacaranda Satellite Classic (97 & 114 km)
MTN OFM Classic (99 km) – Bloemfontein
Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge (97.4 km) – Johannesburg
Die Burger Cycle Tour (92 km) - Stellenbosch, Cape Town

In addition, your time in the 2011 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour and weighted results from the 2010 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour were also considered during this process. Please note that results for 2012 seeding events will not be considered, as these events will affect your 2013 seeding.

Age & Cycle Tour history
We have received numerous requests to take your age and number of completed Cycle Tours into account. If you didn’t meet the above seeding event performance criteria we seeded you as follows:


Riders aged over 75 – in group Z;
Club 21 members – in group BB;
Riders aged 70 to 74 – in group CC

Completed 15-20 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group EE;
Completed 13-14 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group HH;
Completed 12 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group LL;
Completed 11 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group QQ;
Participated in more than one seeding event in 2011 - in group TT;
Completed 10 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group WW;
Completed 9 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group XX;
Completed 8 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group YY;
Completed 7 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group ZZ;
Completed 5 or 6 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours & have an active PPA membership - in group PA;
Participated in only one seeding event & have an active PPA membership - in group PB;
Completed 5 or 6 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours (no PPA membership) - in group OA;
Participated in only one seeding event (no PPA membership) - in group OB.


If you did not qualify for seeding based on the above criteria, but are a member of PPA (formerly WPPPA), you were automatically placed in the PPA category. Similarly, non-PPA members were placed in the Open category.

AA Seeded
BB African (non-SA) entrants (who do not qualify for better seeding)
CC Seeded
DD 2nd Social Tandem
EE Seeded
FF Charity group
GG Charity group
HH Seeded
JJ Charity group
KK Charity group
LL Seeded
MM Charity group
NN Charity group
QQ Seeded
RR Corporate Bond group
SS Corporate Bond group
TT Seeded
UU Nedbank
WW – ZZ Seeded groups
PA – PF PPA members’ groups (who do not qualify for seeding)
OA – OH Open groups (who do not qualify for seeding)

Just got a 'Q' start at 7:06. My buddy who I beat by a good 30 mins in last years Argus and equally in the Burger got seeded 'F' (only seeding races we managed this year). I was looking for a 3:10 - 3:20 time this year and decent paced group.

Little disappointed as how that worked out.

Sounds like they.'ll have to resend all those mails, same as last year, or was it the 94.7 when all the seedings was messed up? They tell me they used my 94.7 time and last years Argus to seed me, but then they dump me in the international group.
