I have been using my iPAD for a few weeks now and in my view the best APPS are:

1. Zinio (get magazines)
2. Pressreader (get newspapers, local included)
3. Flipboard (awesome! get all sorts of information)
4. News24
5. CNN
6. Angry Birds (got via US account)
7. NAV Free
8. Quickoffice
9. Cinex player (pitty it can't play .mkv files) Anyone knows how?
10. Dropbox (will be replaced by iClouid when iOS5 launches)
11. Find iPhone...(he he, my wife can no longer hide)
12. RWC 2011

Any other great apps I am missing?

Not sure whats its called exactly, but on the iPad i gave my wife, she downloaded an app on the star constellations...its awesome.

Probably Skyview...haven't tried it on my iPAD yet, only on iPhone. Gives you all the star constellations/planets/satellite positions etc. Pretty Cool and it is rather accurate.

I see no reason to jailbreak iPAD. For a few additional apps?

After my dissapointment with the IPod I swore I'll never buy another Apple product. But now thanks to the missus I'm the proud owner of the IPad 2. And I'm loving this baby.both of them.

Its the business. Got one last night and whilst I already have an iPhone, the iPad is just genius. I am still sussing out apps though.

Do yourself a favour and get Zinio. It allows you to subscribe to digital magazines from all over the world, and is better than having a print copy (you get it delivered within a day of international release, hyperlinks are clickable etc.). I subscribe to ProCycling, MBUK etc. Best iPad app there is!

There are also a few SA mags available (Runners World, Ride, Men's Health etc) and not having old magazines lying around the house keeps wifey happy.
