Hi guys,

I am looking for an entry level road bike, was shown a Giant SCR1 and also an Axis AR50.
Excuse my ignorance but i dont know much about the Axis range, the guy said its apparently Ralleigh that is now rebranding as Axis, is that true?

The components on the Axis are very good for the price but im just wary of the name and quility of the frame etc...?

Cheers

You won't get better value for money. Just compare specs and prices.

From my understanding, Probike severed their ties with Raleigh and simply continued under the Axis brand.

You will notice that the Axis graphics are similar to last year's Raleighs.

Looking at their advertised prices, it is difficult to justify any other purchase.

Yes and no, Probike had the Raleigh branding rights locally and specced a local line of Raleigh/Nomad bikes.
That fell away as the international range is being introduced, so you wont find the local range of old anymore, but Probike have introduced the Axis brand to essentially pick up from the Nomad range and expand on that.

Cool thanks.
The AR50 has good specs on it, Teagra 10 speed... just deciding on that bike or the Giant SCR1 which has Shora 9 speed.
Both the same price but do you go for the name Giant or the better specs of AR50, if you had to choose?

Teagra is better than Shora....
