Hi all

We're going to Mount Amandzi end of Feb, looking for some riding in the area over the long weekend.

Have a look at Van Gaalens, but give us feedback when you've been? ;)

OMG... van Gaalens is awesome!!!

2 kinds of riding... a 10km loop that is in the shade 99% of the time and along the river... awesome singletrack... just be careful... route is both ways! it is awesome fun!

then there is the outer stuff... for more training..

From JHB... take R512.... at T-junction turn LEFT.... follow road past peacan wood... past west lake... to T-Junction... turn LEFT and 20 meters on the left after the turn is the entrance to Van Gaalens...

With regards to teh other route... it is nice tracks... but after the ride through the trees next to the river... it fades into obscurity...

if you take the longest route... there will be a section where the gradient sneaks up on you... and you will wonder why you are going so much slower... but once you get to the top... there is some awesome downhills... big rutts and rocks... be careful... i would not speed down there on a HT... up to the church is nice too b ut it is all in the open an it gets bloody hot there!!

Start early if you want to do the 40km loop... and have loads of fun!! :)
