how easy is it to Bunny hop with a 29er DS?

im considering moving to a 29er, but i use bunny hop often. all those who ride 29ers, does it hop easy?

and while on the subject, can it handle high-ish drop offs? like 3-4ft drop offs. yes depends on the rims, but would 29er rims generally be up to the task...????

Neg VT: flat pedals or clipped in, and by extension, J-hop or bunny hop?
I know most of us use bunny hop to mean j-hop as well, but i've created the distinction cos some dont actually do a bunny hop in the sense some understand it. (given your avatar, im pretty sure you know what I'm on about, and apologies if the question is considered an affront to your skills ;) )

This is a proper bunny/j-hop:

i need to get one of those!

cant speak from experience but i reckon bunny hopping must be more difficult. If you are talking about standard bunny hop of gullies, small logs etc then not a problem as my riding partner does those fine. If it is bigger stuff then i would check with others or try test run a bike

First ride on a dual 29er last week. 12.5kg. Couldn't believe how easily it bunny hopped. Felt clumsy in the tight, tech stuff though. That's my view.

Used to be able to bunny hop so easy on my BMX now cant get the reign off the ground

Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times

Any bike can be hopped. You just have to get used to it. Just like wheelies. You get used to the centre of gravity and adapt your style.

exactly that Capricorn. my thinking is that when on flat roads and the is a hole/pothole/erosion etc... im talking lifting the entire bike over it at once. both wheels leave the ground at same time... bunny hop, i find helps me "climb" as in the vid up stairs etc...
all im asking is that is it the same, assuming you have a 29 that is pretty much the same weight as the 26er. or do you need to adjust because of the wheel size?

I'm sure any bike can be hopped or wheelied but clearly not by just anyone :(

Whaaat!?

Reign, struggle? we need to chat.

Ok, maybe compared to a BMX there is a marked difference. But you should be able to get that beaut off the ground. Are you at least clearing curbs?

i stopped wheeling after i did one after a very long ride and i landed on my ass with my feet still clipped in. Most painful experience you can imagine :(
